HMC’s Advisory Board

The role and main tasks of the Advisory Board are:

Provide advice and Guidance on Research Priorities and suggest on gaps.

Ensure that Research publications comply with research quality transparency, integrity, and ethics.

Support Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation, funding opportunities and advise on proposals.

Represent the organisation in public forums, conferences, and sector networks.

Dr Mulatu A. Moges

Mulatu Alemayehu Moges (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of Journalism and
Communication at the University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway. He is a respected scholar and media expert with over twenty years of academic, professional, and consultancy experience across Africa and Europe.

Dr Rachel Rafferty

Dr Rachel Rafferty works at the University of Derby where she is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Programme Lead for the MSc Intelligence Security and Disaster Management. She has a professional background in peacebuilding in Northern Ireland and her research interests focus on the ways that narratives shape intergroup relations.

Prof Stefanie Pukallus

Stefanie Pukallus, PhD, is Professor of Public Communication and Civil Development at the School of Information, Journalism and Communication at the University of Sheffield (UK) and founding Chair of Hub for the Study of Hybrid Communication in Peacebuilding (HCPB).

Dr Arif Sahar

I am a political and social scientist with an interest in interdisciplinary research on political economy of conflict in the Global South, especially focussing on Afghanistan. I joined Warwick in 2025, where I lead on the GRECO project within the Interdisciplinary Ethics and Society Research Group.
